Čerap Sʉy woz Mloyim Uẓ̌u
"A fast hare and a slow tortoise."

Tu ne tu yi sʉy woz yi uẓ̌u tu.
Once upon a time, there was a hare and a tortoise.

Ya sʉy eṣ̌ ske x̌ʉ tiziɣ̌ ɣ̌afč trin kert.
The hare was very proud of his speed.

Yi ror ya sʉy yi mloyim uẓ̌u wind, ya sʉy skam sar kande.
One day, the hare saw the slow-moving tortoise and laughed at him.

X̌ati, „Ye uẓ̌u, tuweṣ̌ cumer muloyim č̣aw. Wuzam ʦe kux̌ten tiz.“
The hare said, "Hey, Tortoise, you walk so slowly! I’m the fastest of all!"

Ya uẓ̌u ya sʉy er x̌at, „Wezay borni yi qor gefsen, tayinen kuyi ko tiz.“
The tortoise said to the hare, "Let’s have a race, and we’ll see who is the fastest!"
  

Ya sʉy lam vitay woz ya uẓ̌u muloyim muloyim rʉwʉn vitay.
The hare moved quickly,  and the tortoise walked steadily.

Ya sʉy tra tayin kert ki ya uẓ̌u yi ɣal ɣ̌afč tra ʦbas.
The hare saw that the tortoise was still far behind.

Ya sʉy sʉmba kert ki, zaq orom ʦarem woz tre yinʉk reɣ̌day.
The hare thought, "Let’s rest for a bit," and he fell asleep.  

Ya uẓ̌u haya yi rang mloyim mloyim taɣ̌day woz da x̌ʉ manzil ɣ̌ta. 
The tortoise kept walking steadily and reached its destination.

Ðeṣ̌er ya sʉy gezda woz tayin kerti ki ya mloyim uẓ̌u da x̌ʉ manzil ɣ̌tatk.
Lately, the hare woke up and saw that the slow tortoise has reached its destination.

Ya uẓ̌u yar x̌at ki, “ye amro, mloyim magam barqaror tuk eṣ̌ sak tre manzil ɣ̌tovd.”
The tortoise said, "Hey friend, slow but steady movement takes us to the destination."

☐ tiz tuk eṣ̌ sak tre manzil ɣ̌tovd! (Walking fast takes us to our destination)
